Moxies Restaurant, The Star

Tearing out an old restaurant and building a new upscale one at The Star, the Dallas Cowboys' headquarters in Frisco.

In progressThis job is still under way, so cost and other specifics stay off this page until it's finished.

What I do on this job

  1. Run submittals and RFIs end to end

Manage the job's submittal and RFI log on my own, using the process I set up in preconstruction, and check each submittal against the contract scope and specs.

  2. Write and track RFIs

Check the architect's responses against the drawings and specs, and flag scope changes that need an ASI or change order.

  3. Run this job on Hold Point, which I built

It shows who's holding every submittal and RFI, what's late, and which submittals may delay the schedule before it happens. I use it every day.

    How Hold Point works
  4. Automate parts of the submittal and RFI process

The automations streamline the work, and they only assist. Every approval and every piece of correspondence always gets a final human review.

  5. Run weekly 360-degree camera walks

Track site progress against the schedule.

  6. Write OAC and subcontractor meeting minutes

Record the decisions and action items from each meeting, so the owner, architect and trades all work from the same notes.
